Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-01-04

1. Introduction

DirectCam ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by DirectCam.

2. Information We Collect

DirectCam operates primarily as a peer-to-peer (P2P) video streaming application. This means video data flows directly between your devices.

  • Camera Data: We access your device's camera to enable the streaming functionality. This video data is streamed directly to the connected device and is not stored on our servers.
  • Network Info: To establish a connection, some network information (ICE candidates) is exchanged via a signaling server (Firebase). This data is transient and used only to handshake the connection.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information solely to provide the core functionality of the App:

  • To establish a P2P connection between your camera and monitor device.
  • To enable the video stream.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Firebase (a Google service) for signaling (helping devices find each other). Firebase may collect some data in accordance with their privacy policy.

5. Security

We implement security measures to protect your data. Your video stream is encrypted via WebRTC standard protocols during transmission.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

7. Contact Us
